Business Card Options

Specs / details to be aware of when ordering business cards:

1 or 2 sided.
You can have your information printed on 1 or both sides of the biz cards.
(It may be the same or different info on each side).

What type of finish do you want your cards to have?
With or without UV Gloss.
(If you write on your cards with a pen, you want “without.” Also good if you don’t want a real shiny look).
{UV is short for Ultra Violet Light-Cured Coating. This is a high-gloss coating applied over the front of the printed piece}.

Card Stock (the thickness of the paper).
14 or 16 point. The higher the number the thicker the paper.
{14 point is like the type of paper stock from presentation folders or thick index cards but a much higher quality}.
{14 point is a very versatile stock, and folds precisely when needed}.
{16 point is like the type of stock from heavy bookmarks}.
{16 point is not ideal for folding unless scored first}.

Color:
4/4 = Full color on 2 sides (both sides of the card).
4/1 = Full color on 1 side, B&W on the other side.
4/0 = Full color on 1 side, nothing printed on the other side.
{4/4: Reproduces the spectrum of colors found in a photograph using the standard 4 printing colors of cyan, magenta, yellow & black. Magazine covers and high-end catalogs generally use 4 color printing.}
{4/1: Full color (cyan, magenta, yellow & black) on the front side, and black ONLY on the back side. Postcards generally use this method.}
{4/0: Full color (cyan, magenta, yellow & black) on the front side ONLY}

Folded: yes or no.
folded business cards measure 4″ x 3.5″ & are not the standard size of 2 x 3.5.
you cannot get the standard size biz card folded.
{AKA Fold Over Business Cards}.
(folded business cards are like a hinged A frame card; you’ve seen this style of card at weddings, on tables, these are the table tents that have your name on them for seating arrangements).
{a folded biz card costs more since it is basically like 2 cards attached together. It does give you more room for inserting your content or whatever it is you are having printed on it}.

Artwork:
You will need to supply print ready artwork for your business card.
(such as a JPEG, AI, PSD, or EPS type of file/image).
Alternatively, if you do not have artwork available, you will need to order graphic design additionally.
